Finishing a marley install

Vinyl floor tape ($21.99) handles seams and perimeters for temporary and semi-permanent installs, and it is what we recommend for nearly everyone. Heat-welding thread exists for permanent commercial installs and belongs in a professional installer's hands. For glue-down installs over porous concrete there is Rosco latex adhesive.

For upkeep: the everyday ammonia-free cleaner, the heavy-duty concentrate for scuffed floors, or the two-gallon kit with both. The storage bag protects rolled marley up to 63 inches wide between gigs.

Step-by-step help: installation guide and care guide.

Common questions

Tape or heat welding?

Tape, almost always. It seals seams cleanly, holds for semi-permanent installs, and comes up without damage. Heat welding is permanent, technical, and worth doing only by a pro on a floor that will never move.

Can I clean marley with household cleaners?

Skip ammonia and anything that leaves a residue; both change the slip of the surface. Sweep, then damp mop with an ammonia-free vinyl cleaner. That keeps the grip dancers rely on consistent.
