The package size is the marley dimension. The subfloor coverage is the tiled area beneath it, which is deliberately smaller so the extra marley width can tape down to your existing floor.
Materials
- Dance surface: homogeneous vinyl marley roll, reversible
- Subfloor: high-density EVA foam interlocking tiles, 2' x 2', in 3/8" or 3/4"
3/8" or 3/4"? Both cushion your landings over hard floors. Choose 3/4" for the most impact absorption, for concrete slabs, or for dancers putting in serious daily hours.
Design note: the extra marley width provided for each kit tapes down smoothly to your existing floor, creating a safe, tapered transition onto the subfloor base.
Built for soft-shoe styles
Ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, lyrical and hip-hop. ProStep is a soft-shoe marley: for tap, flamenco or Irish hard shoe, choose the Rosco Adagio roll or Tap Dance Floor Tiles instead.
Installation
- Tool-free: tiles snap together, marley unrolls on top
- Let rolls relax 24 to 48 hours for the flattest result
- Tape the perimeter and any seams with the included mat tape
- Over carpet, trim the marley to sit inside the tile edge and tape to the tiles
Care
- Sweep or vacuum as needed; damp mop for scuffs and spills
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight; clean spills promptly
Backed by a 3-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. Inspect components before installation; faulty installation, improper use and normal wear are not covered.

Assembly
Your kit ships with snap-together sub-floor panels and a marley top. Build the base, roll the marley, tape it down.

Lay the sub-floor panels
Starting in a corner, snap the interlocking sub-floor panels together across your space like a puzzle. They sit directly on any hard floor.
Tip · Dry-fit the whole base before locking it tight.

Trim the perimeter
Cut the outer connector tabs off the edge panels with a utility knife for a clean fit against the walls.

Roll out the marley top
Unroll the marley over the panels, finished-side up, aligned to the longest wall. Give it a few hours to relax flat.

Tape the seams and edges
Run marley seam tape down each join and perimeter tape around the edges so nothing shifts mid-routine.
Tip · 65-75°F is ideal while the marley relaxes.

Damp mop
Weekly, run a barely-damp mop with pH-neutral cleaner. Never vinegar or bleach.

Every few months, re-press the seam and perimeter tape and re-tape any lifting edges.

What's included in the kit?
Every kit includes the marley top, cushioned interlocking subfloor tiles and mat tape. The exact roll count, tile count and tape quantity for each package size are listed in the Kit contents table above.
How big a space does it cover?
Six package sizes, from 5.25' x 10' up to 21' x 20'. The Kit contents table above lists both the marley dimension and the subfloor coverage for each one, because the marley is deliberately wider than the tiled area so it can tape down to your floor.
Can I combine two kits to cover a bigger space?
No. Each kit is designed to be purchased as a single unit, and installing multiple kits together will not yield the correct installed sizing for your space. Each kit's subfloor tiles are sized for its own marley, so a larger package (up to 21' x 20') includes more tiles than the same area built from small kits. For custom sizes, contact us or build your own with a marley roll cut to length and subfloor tiles.
Which subfloor thickness should I choose?
Both 3/8" and 3/4" cushion your landings over a hard floor. Choose 3/4" for the most impact absorption, over a concrete slab, or if you are training serious daily hours.
Do I need tools?
No power tools. The sub-floor panels snap together by hand; you'll only need a utility knife to trim the edges.
Can I take it apart and move it?
Yes, it's fully portable. Lift the tape, roll the marley, and unsnap the panels to relocate or store it.
What floors can it go over?
Any hard, flat surface: wood, laminate, tile or concrete. The kit's tiles sit just inside the marley so its edges can tape down to a hard floor. Over low-pile carpet the marley cannot tape to the floor, so the tiles need to cover the whole marley, which takes more tiles than the kit includes. Contact us and we will work out the count. Avoid thick or plush carpet.
