Pick a flat surface
Lay out the tiles on a clean, level floor. A hard, even base gives you the best response and the brightest, clearest sound underfoot.

If you want added comfort and sound control, roll out the optional rubber underlayment across the area before you place the tiles.

Plan your layout
Decide on the size of your floor and dry-set the first row along a straight edge so the rest of the tiles follow a clean line.

Snap the tiles together
Press the interlocking edges of each tile into the next until they seat. No tools, glue, or tape are needed.

Square up the floor
Walk the perimeter, press down any high edges, and confirm the tiles sit flush so the surface is even from end to end.

Damp-mop the surface
Wipe the tiles with a damp mop to lift scuffs and residue, then let them dry fully before dancing.

How does it sound for tap?
The tiles give a hard, responsive surface that produces a bright, clean sound, which is what hard-shoe work needs. Tap, flamenco, and Irish step dancers all get clear articulation from each strike.
Do I need the rubber underlayment?
No, the underlayment is optional. Adding it brings more comfort and helps control sound, while leaving it out keeps the floor at its hardest and most responsive. Choose based on your space and how much noise you want to manage.
What surfaces can I set the tiles on?

Purchased these when we had the opportunity to buy dance Marley but didn’t have the properly flooring for underneath. They could be what difficult to snap together but once you figure that it was easy. My daughter loves to dance and this will help her practice at home.

I bought this flooring to put into an extra living room we don’t use much and it’s the perfect tap dance floor and great for other types of dance and working out! I put it on top of an existing rug and it has worked out great with me and my husband dancing on it at the same time! Absolutely zero sliding!! I haven’t had to clean floor yet-it’s holding up well and I have 2 large dogs that love to come and hang out with me. I was worried about their claws but no biggie at all!! Doesn’t affect floor one bit! I am very excited about this and so glad I took a chance!

It is a good solution, especially if you are not 100 percent certain about tap. Easy to put together; easy to slide out of the way.

We bought this for our granddaughter. It is very versatile and can be used on carpet and on the laminate floor ( we put a thin yoga pad underneath so it doesn’t slide) She is Loving it and practicing a lot! We bought 2 colors so she can make a checkerboard. Excellent product with a good price!

This dance floor has exceeded my expectations. My daughter is able to dance all types of dance on her floor and even tap. Very sturdy and easy to put together.

This flooring was inexpensive and relatively easy to put together. We didn’t opt to get the pads for underneath but once we received it we decided to buy some from Home Depot (didn’t have time to order it from here). I’d recommend the padding for sound and comfort. I’m hoping it holds up well and “settles” a few of the joints aren’t as smooth as some of the others but overall I’m very pleased.
